Often times, my favorite parts of a session aren't just about making beautiful images (though that is pretty fun), but also getting to know more about my clients so I can put those images in context. Understanding who they are & where they're coming from. Discovering common ground in unlikely places, which helps me to peel back the layers and get a better picture (no pun intended) of what these photos will mean to them, and how to make sure that comes through. Here, big sister opened right up to me and got the session off to a warm, tender start - I think you'll plainly see that in her charming smile right here. I compared notes with mom over careers and working-motherhood, while dad & I uncovered a mutual admiration for Rich Landau restaurants and Federal Donuts. I watched sweet Caroline sleep and snuggle so peacefully, impervious to the chaos around her. Spending time with people in their most personal space isn't just me doing a job; I genuinely enjoy connecting with each and every member of each and every family, and this one was no exception. Congratulations, little Caroline; somehow, I think you already know how lucky you are to be welcomed into the world by a family so full of warmth & love.
